The opening screen of the show Celebration! One of the most watched shows on the Daystar Christian Network shows. The host's Marcus and Joni Lamb stands in the hospital room with Ken Green smiling.
Joni:"Good Evening and welcome to Celebration! Were here in Washington DC with our good friend, Congressman Ken Green! And he has a cabinet of ministers all around him who are here for a "bedside" summit if you will, a roundtable discussion on items plaguing America. Here to day we have Rev. Rod Parsley a longtime confidant of Ken's, Bishop Dennis Lennard of Heritage Christian Center of Denver Ken's home pastor. Minister Jamal Muhammad of the Denver Temple of the Nation of Islam a long time worker with Ken, and last but not least the Rev. Fallwell a longtime political stalwart of the Christian Faith. Mr. Green why have you assembled all these men of distinction in your room here?
Ken:"I was stressed out by events of late. So i called my Pastor, Bishop Lennord here for counsel. He then called my friend the Pastor Rod Parsley and it went from there. I recently made a speech at Joel Osteen's church regarding Same Sex marriages and this nation. Today i am here to champion the causes of the poor. Our government is in a process of making a decision that can affect every poor American. I want to first give my friends the chance to speak.
Jamal Muhammad:"In the Name of Allah, the Benificent, the Merciful, Ruler and Sustainer of all the worlds. To his apostle the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and his sent messenger to us this day the Honorable Minister Louis Farakkan i speak to you. I greet you in the words of peace, As-Salaam Ailakum. My brother here is concerned that government spending on public programs that affect the poor are being cut. It has literally made him sick. We in the Nation of Islam have seen this comming for years. We have taught our members to prepare for this day. Now my brother here has been working hard to preserve those rights. But he is one man, we need to help this brotha."
Ken:"When i return to my congressional duties this week i will be proposing some legislation to my collegues. A bill to change how Welfare is administered and the way welfare is doled out. Its time to cut off those who would think to live off the government, but still keep those who are trying to better themselves. If some people had thier way all these programs would be cut. Pastor Parsley...
Pastor Rod Parsley:"Praise God saints! Christ said in his word that when we are judged he will ask some, did you feed me when i was hungry? And they will say "Lord when have i known you to be hungry?" And Christ will say, "What you do to the least of these you have done unto myself." I dont think our Government can stand to answer that question very long. Saint's its time to pray for our President, and our elected officials. Its time to pray for our brother here. The Center for Moral Justice my Washington Thinktank is raising funds. We will begin a grassroots initiative called "Christ-Feed" the purpose of the program is to fight the cuts to public support first on the local and state levels and we hope to take our fight to Washington.
Joni:"Wow, and i must say that me and Marcus the owners of Daystar support this one hundred percent. We'll host a Telethon for Christ-Feed here on Daystar.Who's idea was Christ-Feed?"
Bishop Dennis Lennord:"It was a mutal idea between the Congressman, me, the Rev. Fallwell, and Pastor Parsley. The Congressman will continue to fight cuts and help reform welfare from inside the political system. And we vowed to educate voters from outside of the issue."
Minister Jamal Muhammad:"In the past hour i've been on the phone with the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakan and he says the Nation of Islam will support this one hundred percent. I dont know when was the last time i ever saw Christian's and Black Muslim's working in such harmony as this. We know that most of the people affected are minorities and that is why we are throwing our support behind it."
Ken Green:"I wish to address the nation please. I am not against Rep. McLaughlin. I want that stopped. I abstained in todays vote simply because i could not yet vote Aye. The President annoucned today that the budget is helping the poor and i have to agree. The poor area's need to recieve funding for businsses and jobs. But we need to ensure that the poor people are the ones being affected and not filling the pocket of rich corporations. I support the party one hundred percent. I am behind my President and the Majority Leader. I simply ask thier consideration of the poor be increased as well as thier awareness of thier needs. Christ-Feed's purpose is to help fundraise at the State Level to ensure that budget cuts by the national government are supplemented at the state level. I am also working on legislation to regulate welfare so that the money that does remain is applied to those who need it. Those who are willing to work and get themselves independent of public services. So please support the Christ-Feed Telethon next month. Citizens of Colorado please support my re-election i am fighting for you. Rev. Fallwell close us in prayer please."
Rev. Fallwell:"I belive the Serenity Prayer is in order. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next. Amen.
Marcus:"I'm Marcus and this is Joni Lamb and were saying Good Night! God Bless! Pray for our government! And get to work in the political process! This is what our God given rights in a democracy are all about! Good Night! And remember Jesus Is the Reason for the Season..."
The screen fades to show the thank you's and credits. It then fades to a commercial for the new Michael W. Smith album...
