Jack Jenkins meets with the Christian Coalition of Georgia
ATLANTA, GA – Following traditional Sunday services, the Christian Coalition of Georgia held a special fundraiser at which retired Col. Jack Jenkins, now a member of the House of Representatives, was the keynote speaker. He delivered a rousing speech in which he asked for all Christians to throw their weight behind the Democratic Party in the coming election, and that the moral voice of America has too long been silenced by radicals and the “con men of the GOP.”
Excerpts follow: “One of the issues that the GOP introduced in the budget was the cutting of money to low-income families. Now everyone here knows that down here in Georgia, family is the most important thing. Now why would anyone want to cut money to help out families? Because they don’t believe in them, that’s why. The Democrats wouldn’t abandon the family unit, and certainly wouldn’t do anything to try and injure that institution. That’s precisely what the Republicans have done with that one strike in the budget, doomed families everywhere by not offering them the help they need to stay together.”
“One of the other things those con men in the Capitol have done is continue to support the usurpation of God’s power by our government. God has always had supreme power over life and death. Our Republican Government thinks that it has that power. In supporting the death penalty, it supports the taking of a life before God deems it to be their time. It costs less to imprison a man for life in prison than it does to inject a man with the life-stealing chemicals we use in carrying out the death penalty.
And yet men such as Sen. Uxbridge, who says that those that reject a death penalty are just as bad as the criminals they refuse to murder, are the ones allowed to continue the practice. Can Sen. Uxbridge speak for the absolute guilt of every man put to death? Even our most advanced forensic techniques cannot speak to that guilt yet. Mistakes are still made, and innocent men still die, their cries unheard by the men supposedly responsible for their lives. The Honorable Senator Uxbridge, and the rest of the GOP have stained their hands with the blood of those innocents. The moral voice of America must be heard. It’s our turn. Support the Democrats, and we will work to restore morality to our government. It’s time to show the GOP that God is not outdated, and that Thou shalt not kill still applies.”
“In closing, it’s time for your voice to be heard. The Republicans have started to weaken the family unit that all of us Georgians hold so dear. They kill criminals despite better alternatives, and doubts about their guilt. President Warder is a charismatic man. He tells jokes, he smiles, and he makes you feel ok. Meanwhile, he does nothing to stop his party from continuing the degradation of the life that we here in Atlanta, in this church, have worked so hard to protect. Protect your family, protect God’s right to judgment, and protect your Country. Support the Democrats in the upcoming election. Thank you.”
