The resignation of Secretary McCain is a great loss for this administration. Throughout his years as a prominent conservative senator, McCain has been a stalwart proponent of conservative economic policies and the globalization of trade. I hope that McCain is able to recuperate and engage in the American political process as soon as he is able.
The new Secretary of Defense, Congressman Avery Adams, is more than able in his experience in national defense and military dealings. I welcome him as a peer and look forward to meeting with you to discuss the matters that pertain to our national defense.
