Aye to table.
---
Mr. Speaker,
Will a member of this body explain to me how we will be able to maintain oversea bases, our operations in Afghanistan, our "war" in Iraq, and this? Have they thought about giving our armed forces a break instead of moving from one nation to the next trying to conquer the world?
I yield the floor.

"Mr. Hall's comments offend me. The United States conquering the world? I would have thought that the distinguished gentleman from New York would have chosen better words. Are we conquering the world? In Afghanistan you had the Taliban who supported Al Qaida. In our efforts to get Al Qaida in our war on terror we had to go to war with it's supporter, the Taliban. Was that decision right? Yes it was for the simple fact that if we dident we could have faced more attacks like 9-11. The move to Iraq was it right? We have intel both humanint and sigint that there were WMD in Iraq. We removed a dictatorship and restored peace and hope to the Iraqi people. Now we face war again. Did we instigate this? Nay, i say that the President of Iran did this. He has openly threatened an ally of ours and the security and stability of the region. And now he threatens us directly. I say use diplomatic means if at all possible, but when it is evident that it is not possible then we do what we must do and remove the threat to us and our ally's within the hemisphere.
I yield...

Mr. Speaker,
I'd ask unanimous consent to show in the record that I made no comment referring to the United States "conquering the world."
I yield.

Mr. Speaker,
Point of Order. The member for X [OOC: Green] has named a member of the body.
Mr. Speaker,
If empty threats were grounds for war, this world would consistently be in warfare. I must remind the member that we still have war measures occurring in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Our armed forces are definitely tired and to take on another two nations in war would be a drastic mistake.
I yield the floor.

"Mr Speaker i apologise those comments were not made by the distinguished Mr. Hall but by another represenative.. Furthermore i am out of order for referring to a member of this body by name during these proceedings i apologise for being out of line. Now to continue on about what was said by some of our counterparts on the other side of the row, yes our fighting men and women are tired. We have placed extreme strain on the Armed Forces of the United States of America. But our security depends on these measures. Tell me Gentlemen when will enough be enough? When will we take action against those who threaten us and our allies. When? Does it take a nuke heading for Jerusalem or Washington DC before we take action. Yes our military is strained. And yes diplomatic channels must be used up before we can afford to go to war. But if those channels do not work, and if these threats continue, then we will need to take action. Our safety depends upon it.
I yield.

Mr. Speaker,
How much is required for a trigger-happy political party to speed a resolution through Congress to declare war? A threat? A rumour? Some internet gossip?
Until all our other sources have been used up, there is no need for war. We must urge the President to push the Security Council for arms inspections in both Syria and Iran. The uranium they hold can run, but I doubt it can hide.
I yield.

"Trigger happy? Trigger happy? Are you insane or just ridiculous? I'm not talking about a march on Teheran this second. Nay i am talking about having the tools to do so if that situation appears to become needed. The President needs the power to act at a moments notice. It could mean life and death for our country. Havent i said that other diplomatic means need to be taken? Good God listen to yourselves? You act as if were planning an invasion next Tuesday along with our annual "Trigger Happy" BBQ on wedsday. This is not a game, and this is serious. Give our President the power he needs when he needs it. Giving him this power will add leverage to UN negotiations in the security council. Trigger happy, gosh i would choose better articulation when slandering a party. It would be wrong of me to call the Democratic Party the Coward Party, but it almost sounds as if that would be in order right about now.
I yield.

Mr. Speaker,
Point of Order. The member failed to address the Speaker.
Mr. Speaker,
As much as the Republican Member would like to rant on and on about how much Iran is a danger to us, no one willl listen because I sincerely believe there is no way Iran will be able to destroy our nation. Sure, they could do some damage if they were that stupid, but I believe they're smarter than that.
The Member implies that he's spoken about diplomatic measures. I apoligize, but I was busy ignoring his blbbering on about some nuclear apocalypse - could he point out the aforementioned statements?
This government is trigger-happy. We are on a road to declare a third war in a less than a decade, after the first two never accomplished they're real goals. This is a stupid idea, Mr. Speaker, and is a much worse solution to this problem than working through the United Nations.
I yield the floor.

Mr. Speaker,
The gentleman from Colorado wants us to add "leverage" to the U.N. debate? My goodness, that worked so well the last time that we added "leverage" to President Bush's repertoire of false arguments when he attempted to get the U.N. to support the Iraqi misadventure. As I've said before, we do not have to give the President the authority to use force to defend America, and I take deep offense at those Congressmen who claim that we would use such an event against President Warder. If there is an emergency - all I ask is that the President follow the dictates of the War Powers Resolution, which explains exactly what should be done in those situations.
We cannot and should not support a resolution giving the President a blank check to go to war against Iran, Syria, or both. We must be more deliberative than that!
I yield.

Mr. Speaker,
I move to introduce an amendment.
Amendment would strike points 1 and 2 from Section 3, subpoint A.
Amendment further would amend "Armed Forces" to read: Naval and Air Forces
The amendment would further add destroy any stockpiles of nuclear weapons in Iran and Syria at the end of Section 3, subpoint A.
Section 3, subpoint A would now read:
