MCLAUGHLIN APPLAUDS PRESIDENT'S BUDGET
"The President has the right idea. Our government should be a lean, mean fighting machine. It should do a few things, but do them well and that is what the proposed budget will accomplish. Of course, we are increasing funding for the military so our men and women in uniform will have the resources they need."

MCLAUGHLIN RALLYS SUPPORT FOR FISCAL AMENDMENTS
The President's agenda calls for two of the most critical tools that our country needs: The Line Item Veto and Balanced Budget Amendments.
The Line Item Veto will help eliminate Pork Barrel Spending from Congress by allowing the President to veto congressional spending. The Balanced Budget Amendment forces Congress and White House to balance the budget every single year, which will help to stabilize our economy.
I am willing to work for the American people to achieve these results which will help to protect each and every taxpayer.

MCLAUGHLIN SUPPORTS SMART FARMING
Congressman McLaughlin has proposed President Warders’ agenda for Smart Farming in the House of Representatives, which converts current farm subsidies into federal grants and deficit relief.
“This is a good bill, plain and simple. Instead of economically harmful subsidies, the federal government will convert them into grants for farmers, as well as funds to relieve the deficit. I encourage all fiscally responsible taxpayers to support this well-thought out plan for our nation’s agricultural community.”

MCLAUGHLIN ON WAPO CLAIM OF DEATH TO RELIGIOUS RIGHT Republicans, in general, are morally in-tune people. We have strong ethics and strong moral beliefs, whether they stem from creed or just plain good upbringing.
For one to say that the Republicans have lost the Religious Right is ridiculous. God-fearing people are the heart of this nation, which President Warder does awknowledge.
I assure the American people that the Republican Party is still the party of morality, and that will never change.

MCLAUGHLIN BOASTS OF CUTTING RED TAPE ON BUDGET, INSTALLING CHILD TAX CREDITS
The changes I have proposed reform a paralyzed government in red tape. We must scale back programs that are not providing the results intended.
On the other note, these changes make an opening to earmark funds for Child Tax Credits, which will greatly benefit our working families, so they may save for their children's future.

MCLAUGHLIN ENCOURAGES AN OWNERSHIP SOCIETY, STRENGTH IN THE AMERICAN DREAM
"The Government offers many tempting proposition, but my father had a saying. "If I can't do it myself, the Government won't do it any better." And he was right. The government doesn't know you, so how can they help? Leaning on the Government will only get you so far, and will inevitably get you stuck.
Own the American Dream - own your own destiny."

MCLAUGHLIN CALLS FOR CHARITABLE GIVING; LESS GOVERNMENT HAND OUTS
I promise you this. With the private and faithbased sectors in the lead, the United States can eradicate poverty as we know it! Let us give people a hand up; rather than having the government give a hand out!
As Pope Pius X once said, "Give me your time, and you have given your heart." And I shall say "Give me your heart, and you have given the world.

MCLAUGHLIN QUELLS FARM FIGHT; CALLS FOR GOP SUPPORT OF FAMILY FARMERS[B/]
GOP Fundraiser: Kansas City, MI
"The Family Farmer is the backbone - the core of the American heartland. President Warder knows this, which is why he wants help them by cutting the loop holes for large agribusiness who reap profits off the backs of the American Family Farmer. My friend, Congressman Goodwin knows this too. Hank has been traveling the heartland to rally support for American farmers! I am thrilled that the heartland is finally receiving its debate, which is way overdue.
To help quell the turmoil, I have introduced an amendment to the Budget that will provide for Federal Grants to family farmers, conservation organization and USDA programs that benefit clean technology grants to American farmers. I aim to exhault American's greatest asset - the Family Farmer, but more notably - the President wants to help them too, and is what Hank Goodwin is trying to protect.
The Republican Party is looking out for the Family Farmer, and for the preservation of America's heatland."
